Mixed Media Art Process

Alison’s mixed media artistic ventures lead the way to active and tangible exploration of understanding existence through displacing space. The action and process of mixed media informs awareness beyond linguistic systems. In the creation and perception of art, the artist merges perceptual attention to the form as the form presents challenges to the artist’s skill and intellect. The visual challenge returns to the artist a means of deeper understanding of experience, perception, and self as an explicitly non-verbal transaction.

The sharing of Mixed Media Art invites a physical interplay of the audience to be intimately involved with the art through physical interaction. Art invites the instigation of though, sensation, and meaning (Dewey, 1934; Geist, 1967; Museum of Contemporary Art, 1998; Robinette, 1979; Robertson, 1999). Alison is deeply enticed and constantly working in the studio towards further creation of mixed media for public art and Installations.
